With a goal of providing students in the Alleghany Highlands with optimal educational opportunities, Covington City Public Schools and Alleghany County Public Schools are combining to form Alleghany Highlands Public Schools. This merger demonstrates a strong regional commitment to educational excellence and overall cooperation. With a robust technical center, a regional Governor’s School, and numerous elementary teachers with advanced training in reading education, we look forward to many great opportunities in the future. Our students and staff are focused on learning, and our community supports low pupil – teacher ratios and safe, welcoming learning environments.
